WANT TO GET FIT AND RAISE MONEY FOR MANTA RAY CONSERVATION?
Cross the Oceans is a team fitness challenge to raise funds for manta rays.
In June 2024, we will be travelling from Peru to the Pacific Manta Research Group, who focus on the conservation of manta rays in the Eastern Pacific, including the Revillagigedo Archipelago. Join us in reaching our target so we can protect these charismatic species!
A bit of history: Starting in 2021, each year we travel across the oceans to one of our affiliate project locations, raising money for them along the way. So far, we have travelled 15,026km and raised £19,945 towards the conservation of manta rays. Having travelled across the Atlantic Ocean from 2021-2022, in 2023 we made our epic journey over to the vast Pacific Ocean, from the Manta Caribbean Project to the Peru Mobulid Project.
As this is a virtual challenge, you can take part from anywhere in the world. To join, you need to commit to a distance to complete over the month that will challenge you, in any discipline that works for you, or even a mix of disciplines. These could include running, swimming and cycling, but also adaptive sports, walking, kayaking, paddleboarding, roller skating, and more…
We will be using Challenge Hound to map the team’s progress by either automatically syncing activities from your fitness app or manually inputting your efforts. As a team, we will combine our individual efforts and complete the full distance in one month. Are you up to the challenge of crossing the Pacific Ocean with Team Manta?
