WANT TO GET FIT AND RAISE MONEY FOR MANTA RAY CONSERVATION?
Cross the Oceans is a team fitness challenge to raise funds for manta rays.
In June 2025, we will travel from the Revillagigedo Archipelago in the Eastern Pacific to the Hawaii Association for Marine Education & Research (HAMER), that focuses on the conservation of manta rays in Hawaii. Join us in reaching our target so we can protect these charismatic species!
A bit of history: Starting in 2021, each year we travel across the oceans to one of our affiliate project locations, raising money for them along the way. So far, we have travelled 20,239km and raised £32,773 towards the conservation of manta rays. Having travelled across the Atlantic Ocean from 2021-2022, in 2023-2024 we have journeyed over to the vast Pacific Ocean, to our affiliate projects in this region.
As this is a virtual challenge, you can take part from anywhere in the world. To join, you need to commit to a distance to complete over the month that will challenge you, in any discipline that works for you, or even a mix of disciplines. These could include running, swimming and cycling, but also adaptive sports, walking, kayaking, paddleboarding, roller skating, and more…
We will be using Challenge Hound to map the team’s progress by either automatically syncing activities from your fitness app or manually inputting your efforts. As a team, we will combine our individual efforts and complete the full distance in one month. Are you up to the challenge of crossing the Pacific Ocean with Team Manta? Stay tuned for more details soon!
