Steve Backshall is a BAFTA-winning English naturalist, writer, and television presenter. You may have seen Steve in the recent Our Changing Planet series on BBC, also featuring our research! He has worked for the National Geographic Channel and the Discovery Channel and has published three novels for children and several non-fiction works. As a long-time friend, supporter, and patron of the Manta Trust, he wanted to say a big thank you to all of you…our wonderful Cyclone members, for your continuous support!

He recently visited our Manta Trust team based in Laamu Atoll Maldives, and here he takes you on a sneak-peak tour of The SHELL - Six Senses’ Sea Hub of Environmental Learning in Laamu, where the Maldives Underwater Initiative uses the centre to teach people about marine conservation and their many research projects. Isn’t the centre amazing!
